Chiefs’ rookie CJ Hanson reaches his lifelong goal — and thinks he’s in the right place

In their seventh-round draft pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs have found a player who has aspired to the NFL his entire life: interior offensive lineman C.J. Hanson.

“This was always my dream — from birth,” he told reporters before Sunday’s rookie minicamp session at the Truman Sports Complex. “I’ve always wanted it.”

That birth happened a little earlier than expected: he was born two and a half weeks prematurely — but as you would expect for a future offensive lineman, he still weighed nine pounds. It was just the first thing Hanson did sooner than expected: he was walking by the time he was nine months old.
